If God is in the plan, the devil can't be there too

Have you ever stepped out on faith for something?  A new job, buying a car, joining a gym, starting a new relationship, creating a blog….

You’re so excited about your decision and choice and then suddenly this little voice starts telling you all the reasons your decision is wrong.  The voice is never loud and booming, but it’s big enough to make you begin to question everything you’d just decided on.  Satan knows your weakness and those are the areas where he attacks us.  He knows you hope that relationship will be “the one” or that you’ve never managed to keep a gym commitment more than a week, or that you think you don’t have a story to tell.  Satan likes to tell us that we aren’t good enough, we can’t make it work, we’ll only shame ourselves – the list could go on and on.

But our God has equipped us to deal with all of Satan’s tricks.  Ephesians 6:11 says, “put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”  God gave us battle armor to ready ourselves to face Satan and bring him down.  We don’t fight flesh but rulers and principalities of darkness.  We are children of the King and we have power to speak life into our dreams.

If there’s something you are wanting to do and you know that the Lord is in it, then get of the boat and just do it!  Turn off the voice of Satan and submit to the blessings of God.  James 4:7 reminds us to   “submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Because if God is in the plan, the devil can’t be there too.

  1. It is so easy to let Satan unknowingly take the wheel while we sit back in resignation. This is a great reminder to stop and think about the real reasons for not doing something or in some cases, doing the wrong thing.
